Lips go dark because of health reasons, eating habits, smoking, skin reaction to makeup products, etc. It's not too late to get your original lips back.
- See a doctor – change in lip colour could be a sign of a serious health issue.
- After brushing your teeth, brush your lips too. This will help to exfoliate and remove any dead skin cells on your lips. Try this twice a day – morning and evening. Keep your lips hydrated. They don't have to be drenched in petroleum jelly or lipgloss every time. But make sure they are not dry. Carry a lip balm or chapstick with you. Please note that Robb is not a lipbalm.
- Apply honey on your lips overnight. You can also add a bit of lemon. Do this for at least a month.
- During seasonal weather changes such as the harmattan, avoid wearing matte lipsticks. Use moisturising lipsticks.
- Pay attention to the makeup brands you use. If you start to react to any product, stop using immediately. Avoid cheap lipsticks – they are cheap for a reason. Invest in good lipsticks.
- Throw away old lipsticks and lipgloss tubes!
- Stop smoking. Tobacco stains lips.
