How to lighten dark lips

By Philip Otuo,
Lips go dark because of health reasons, eating habits, smoking, skin reaction to makeup products, etc. It's not too late to get your original lips back.
  •       See a doctor – change in lip colour could be a sign of a serious health issue.
  •       After brushing your teeth, brush your lips too. This will help to exfoliate and remove any dead skin cells on your lips. Try this twice a day – morning and evening.     Keep your lips hydrated. They don't have to be drenched in petroleum jelly or lipgloss every time. But make sure they are not dry. Carry a lip balm or chapstick with you. Please note that Robb is not a lipbalm.
  •      Apply honey on your lips overnight. You can also add a bit of lemon. Do this for at least a month.
  •     During seasonal weather changes such as the harmattan, avoid wearing matte lipsticks. Use moisturising lipsticks.
  •      Pay attention to the makeup brands you use. If you start to react to any product, stop using immediately.  Avoid cheap lipsticks – they are cheap for a reason.  Invest in good lipsticks.
  •      Throw away old lipsticks and lipgloss tubes!
  •      Stop smoking. Tobacco stains lips.
