Blind footballer scores incredible solo goal

BY Philip Otuo,
This is extraordinary.
During a game of blind football between France and Germany last week, Yvan Wouandji scored an astonishing solo goal. The Frenchman has represented his country in the Paralympics but it is hard to imagine he has ever scored a better goal.
In blind football, outfield players wear masks to make sure they have an equal lack of vision. If you watch the video at the top of the page, you will witness the player pick up the ball in his own half, waltz past most of the opposition before drilling a shot into the bottom corner with ease. There are shades of George Weah about the effort but the magic doesn't end there.
After scoring, the 21-year-old dived into the inflatable pitch wall without a care in the world and was mobbed by the French staff. A worthy celebration of a truly remarkable goal.
