The IBF has tentatively approved to sanction the
International Jr. Featherweight derby between Ghanaian and former IBF
Bantamweight champion Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko against Carlo Magali.
The fight will take place in Accra, Ghana in March of this year and
promoted by Box Office Sports Limited a company based in Accra, Ghana.
According to the letter dated February 1, 2015 written
by Lindsey Tucker who is the IBF Chairman of Championships Committee, the
battle for Agbeko and Magali is forthcoming.
“The IBF has granted tentative sanction approval for
the vacant IBF International Jr. Featherweight Championship fight between
Joseph Agbeko and Carlo Magali. Once we get the sanction fees, the IBF President
Daryl Peoples or I will contact you regarding the names of the officials,” said
the IBF Championships Czar, Lindsey Tucker to Alex Ntiamoah-Boah who owns and
manages Box Office Sports Limited.
Joseph Agbeko is one of the great boxers to ever come
from Ghana and Africa and he ascended to the IBF world pinnacle after becoming
the Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) champion.
