Tetteh won the 2009 edition in Rwanda and went ahead to conquer the world in Egypt that same year. He won silver with a new generation of Black Satellites at subsequent edition in Algeria.
“The team can win the trophy. If you have a coach (Sellas Tetteh) that has won the cup before and then in the last edition, he was a finalist, then there is no other realistic target for him than to win the competition,” Afriyie told Starr Sports.
Ahead of Ghana’s campaign in Group B of the competition against Mali, South Africa and Zambia, coach Tetteh has been in Antalya, Turkey with his 21-man squad and will round off their preparations with a friendly match against Iraq on Monday.
The ex-Rwanda trainer guided the Black Satellites to earn qualification to the Senegal 2015 tournament during the era of George Afriyie as the team’s management head.
