Boxing Promoter Mcdon Atitsogbe Wanted

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has indefinitely suspended the licence of McDon Boxing Promotions after the outfit failed to meet the necessary financial obligations to various parties following the staging of the “Fist of Fury” event on the 5th of December at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to the GBA, the various boxers and ring officials who took part in the event have not been paid monies but the CEO of McDon Promotions, MacDon Atitsogbe, is also nowhere to be found.
This prompted the association to suspend his licence and report the matter to the Police.
Spokesperson of the GBA, Naa Darkoaa Dodoo, told Citi Sports in an interview on Wednesday that the Police were brought in to help find Attitsogbe after he could not be found when cheques he issued  were found to be duds at the bank.
” He gave us some cheques as payment to the boxers and ring officials but they were dud cheques and we could not get the money. We have not been able to reach him after that.
Calls to his number have not been going through and he was not at his office. We are now reporting this issue to the Police because we thought he would come and explain things to us but he has not done so. We hope the Police will find and arrest him so we can solve this issue.”
Meanwhile, the GBA has stated it has been forced to find the needed funds to pay the officials and boxers.
